Anik Dutta’s Aparajito has been selected to be screened at
Satyajit Ray’s birth centenary celebration at the Ministry of I&B, Government of India, on May 2 in Mumbai. There will be an inauguration of a gallery dedicated to Ray. A number of Ray’s films and films made on the master filmmaker will also be showcased at the do. Filmmaker
Shyam Benegal and several other dignitaries are expected to attend the show.
While talking about the screening, Anik said, “This will be the first screening. It is an honour that Shyam Benegal and other dignitaries will be watching the film.”
Aparajito narrates the story of a young aspiring and determined filmmaker Aparajito Ray who dreams to make his first film. Throughout this journey, Aparajito overcomes all odds and roadblocks and finally achieves his seemingly impossible dream by making Pather Padabali. Starring Jeetu Kamal in the lead role, Saayoni Ghosh, Anusha Viswanathan, Anjana Basu, Paran Bandopadhyay, Barun Chanda, Anushua Majumder will be seen other key characters.
